I have a 13 year old Newfy-Lab cross female. She has been blind for about 3 years. The original Vet I took her to said she had a degenerative disease in her eyes and not cataracts. Now, another Vet is telling me that, in fact, she does have cataracts. What would be involved to have these removed? Would it be too traumatic at her age? She's healthy otherwise with just a slightly underactive thyroid and mild arthritis, which she is taking medicine for. Thank you! Any advice would be very appreciated.
I recommend that you ask for a referral to an ophthamologist specialist for a third opinion. vetcare
