I am rescuing a 9mos. old female boxer. She has had good experience with dogs & children, but is left in a crate for very long periods of time. I currently have a 2yr old male pitbull, who has been very accepting and friendly towards other dogs. Recently, we had a house party. I had been stressed out from cleaning etc & the day of the party, there were new people & new dogs present. Our dog did not respond well to the dogs on this day. At the party, a female entered first followed by a younger male. Do you think he responded this way due to the changes in his environment that day?
We have gone for recent walks where he has met other males & was totally friendly with them. And we have had females present in the house & he welcomed them without a problem. I am familiar with the basic
It could be that your pet is territorial and is protecting "his" territory. vetcare
