I wanted to get a second opinion about my dog. Yorkshire Terrier; about 5-7lbs, 12-14yrs old. I recently moved. Where I lived before there was not many other people with dogs, so I never had a problem. At my new residence many people have dogs. My yorkie recently got fleas. She has never had them before. I was wondering if it would not be a good idea to start her on a flea pill/drop/chew/or other program due to her age. Most of the time when a dog gets older, you don't want to change much. A friend of mine made the mistake of changing the food their cat ate after about 12 years, not realising that it had something in it that helped the liver, and the cat died. It just worries me that at my dogs age, having her eat a pesticide might not be good for her. I was wondering if there were any alternatives available.
Any information, opinions or other would be greatly appreciated.
If you are in an area where there are fleas and your pet goes outside then I recommend flea control. Advantage and frontline are very good. vetcare
