I have been living in Europe and my cat was prescribed ovaban for a skin condition. She has been on it for about 7 years. 2.5 mg once a week. It works really well. Now that I am back in the USA i was told that ovaban can cause diabeties. My question is what should I get to replace it?
You would have to talk to your vet about it. It depends on the type of skin condition your pet has. Sometimes depo-medrol or prednisone is used on skin canditions in cats but these medications also have side effects which include diabetes. Your pet may have a allergy in which case a food change may be the answer. A vet should evaluate your pet. good luck, vetcare
