My 7 yo m cat who is ALPHA urinates in several spots in the house all w/carpet. We have ruled out urinary tract infection. I've always believed it is behavioral. I have 2 other cats, male and female. They have all been together for years. In October he was diagnosed diabetic. Insulin made him worse, lost alot of weight and wouldn't even drink. After 4 or 5 days of this, I stopped the insulin, within 1.5 to 2 days he started drinking water and eating and is a much happier cat. He has not gained the weight back (he had weighed 16# and is a very large built cat) and eats voraciously and, of course, drinks alot of water. This is alot isn't it? Anyhow, any suggestions about his urinating would be appreciated. I have tried isolation. I feel so horrible about it (and so does he) because he's a really sick kitty, so I let him out in 2 days or so.
I am sorry, but if your cat is a diabetic and he is not being treated for the disease then he is going to urinate more frequently. When cats urinate more frequently, they tend to urinate in inappropriate places. vetcare
