I had my 10 year old dog's teeth taken out. I had originally taken her to her usual vet to have this done but he was out of town and a sub. vet said that the tooth needed to come out. Has she was looking at her records she noticed that on the blood work that there was questionable by kidney but they went ahead and put her out and cleaned her teeth anyway. She wondered why he had gone ahead and done it if it had been questionable. I know she probably shouldn't have maybe said that to me. Well, I was a little upset when i had taken her to have what i thought was going to have a tooth removed but it was not done. Teeth were just cleaned and packed in the bad tooth. he wanted me to take her to another vet for a second opinion, but I was not happy with that.
I have since switched vets, Sammi has had her two teeth removed, but in the process the vet told me I had a right to be concerned with the kidney. It has been 2 weeks since she has had them out and her BUN count has gotten very high h
The best you can do is keep her hydrated with sq or iv fluids. Good luck, vetcare
