Our 3 1/2 yr old cat has recently started having what appear to be seizures that are intensifying. To our knowledge, they started about two months ago with a smacking sound accompanied by some frothing from the mouth, lasting about 30 seconds. We took him to our vet and they said he was fine. Last night he had a very severe seizure complete with violent muscle spasms, loss of bladder control and lasting about 3 minutes. I am very concerned because of the increasing intensity and freguency of these occurrences. Let me also add that our cat was born with no tail and we have been led to understand that sometimes there are certain physical side effects due to the nerve endings not developing fully. In the three 1/2 years we have had our wonderful little boy he has not exhibited any of those problems and the only treatment, other than regular check-ups and nail clipping, he has had was neutering. I will look forward to any information you can share with us. Thank You!
If your pet has a grand mal seizure more then 2 times in a 6 week period of time then I recommend medical treatment. Your pet should also have some blood tests to help find the cause. vetcare
