I have a cat that is approx. 13 years old. She was diagnosed with F.U.S. when she was about 3 years old and was put on CD Science Diet. About 5 years ago the Dr. put her to WD Science Diet and has been on that now ever since. However, she really has never liked that food. Last month, I ran out and couldn't get into the Vet's to buy more and so I purchased Purina Special Care Urinary Track Health Formula and she seems to like that food better and it is about 1/2 the price. Is there any reason that she wouldn't do just as well on the Purina food? Or would it potentially cause other problems? When I asked my Vet, I was not incouraged to make this change, but wasn't really given a clear answer. Thank you for your help.
I have placed many cats with the same condition on purina special urinary tract diet and they have done well. I am not telling you to switch food b/c your vet prescribed the c/d for a good reason. Both diets are low in ash content. vetcare
