I have selected a puppy and put down a deposit. The breader will not release him because he has gotten a cold and what to have him checked by the vet in another week to ensure he is ok. This is a cocker spaniel. I am concerned that I am getting a sick dog. I visited yesterday, he is playful, full of vigor and shows no visable signs. His ears do not smell either. Should I be concerned or is this a good sign of a good breeder.
Please advise and should I just be patient that they are ensuring I go home with a healthy pet. I've had a cocker in the past so I know about ear problems with them.
Sounds like the breeder is doing everything right. Ask the breeder if you can talk to her vet. vetcare
