We have a golden Retriever/ Black Lab mix female (she has long hair like the retriever, but it is all black). She gets frequent ear infections that have been treated with Clavamox and Tresaderm. Do you have any thoughts on why the infections keep coming back, and what we might try to prevent them?
All dogs have ear canals that turn at a 90 degree angle. This doesn not allow the ear to drain and "breath" well. Because of this dogs are prone to ear infections. Some dogs with allergies will also have chronic ear infectins. medicating the ear, keeping the ear dry and surgery are your options. vetcare
