My cat is 16 years old. He is a male tabby (Sam) and I recently took him in to see the vet. The vet told me he had the beginning of a kidney problem, but with medication he should get better. The problem is that Sam had always been a quiet cat until recently when he crys like he is dying. It is loud and very sad. He stops his crying when my son gives him attention but he hasn't purred in some time. He is also very thin, although he does eat well. Do cats exhibit sadness? What can we do to have him back to normal?
This sounds more like senility. This is related to old age. There is not much you can do about senility. I also recommend that you have the kidney values re-checked when you are done with the medication. vetcare
