Dear Vet-Team ! One of our dogs is having problems with her anal glands which sometimes get impacted and need to be expressed manually. I've heard that a high-fiber diet may improve the natural evacuation of these glands. My questions are: 1.) Is this true ?
2.) Would feeding bran with the normal food also be helpful ? And if so, how much would I have to feed my Newfoundland ?
Thank you very much for your advice ! Sincerely, Susanne
This is a theory and since it will not hurt your pet, why not try it. If you have a large dog then give the adult dose of bran. good luck, vetcare
