My 12 yr old female cat, Missy, has been diagnosed with a rodent ulcer on her left eyelid. She has been given a complete treatment of steroid pills and given eye ointment. It seems as long as she takes the eye ointment, the ulcer doesn't get any worse, but it doesn't get better either. The vet wants to take out the piece of her eyelid that has the ulcer on it. Help!
Isn't there another solution? Thanks!!
I do recommend a biopsy to make a definitive diagnosis so your vet is doing the right thing. I usually find that these rodent ulcers go away with steroid treatment but they can reoccur. Good luck, vetcare
