I was petting my 2 year old cat and when he walked a I heard a quishy sound near his hind legs and when I looked closer, I saw bald spot and in the bald spot was a dime-sized hole that I could see INTO. I called my nieghbor and she said it was a wound from a leaving foxtail; I looked all around him and in the same area but on the outer side of his body was a healed wound from, what looked like the entrance from the foxtail. Im really worried that it could be infected but it doesnt seem to be bothering my cat much. I cleaned it wiht peroxide and my neighbor gave me the same ointment her dog used when he had a foxtail infection. I dont have the money to take him to the vet so Is there any kind of pet Insurance out there? and if there is should I take him to see the vet or will he heal all right? thank you so much.
I recommend a vet visit. Any wound can become infected and this could be a problem. vetcare
