My dog is a collie. dog. I am worried because he is very much overweight and he has a hard time getting up. We give him pills that were given to him, but they dot seem to work for very long. We believe he has arthrightous(not sure of correct spelling), but he chews on his front left paw all the time and has for such a long time too. It looks bad most of the time and I am afraid that he is maybe going to make himself bleed. We can already see his skin when he chews it and I don’t want him to hurt himself. How would we make him stop? And what would you recommend for a pill pr something to help him stand up more easily? Thank you, waiting on your reply. Katie!
For arthritis I recommend either rimadyl, etogesic or cosequin. For the chewing I recommend benadryl. For the obesity I recommend a restricted calorie diet from eukanuba or science diet and more exercise. Good luck, vetcare
