I have two 16 week old kittens. At one time I had mixed canned and dry food, and adding more dry to gradually wean them on to dry food alone. For two weeks, they had dry kitten food only, available at all times. They would eat the dry food. But, even after 2 weeks it did not seem that they were eating enough. I have another 16 year old, which we feed canned strictly (in a separate location). Of course the kittens would desire the canned food. They acted as if they were starving all of the time, even though the dry food was there. After the two weeks, I gave in to giving them each a small amount of canned twice daily, leaving out the dry food at all times for them to munch as preferred. I am about to give up, as it seems they almost ignore the dry food, just waiting for that next feeding of canned food. I know they cannot be getting enough to eat. I am not sure what to do at this point. Any ideas?
I do not understand your problem and/ or question. Just feed them canned food, if that is what they like???? If you think they are hungry feed them a little more???? vetcare
