My 8-year-old cat's tail was bitten off by a dog when he was 2 weeks old. He gnaws at his nub and the area around it constantly. I saw a vet and she gave us all kinds of skin creams, pills, etc. Those didn't have any effect. I even had it re-amputated to make sure it could heal correctly. He's still doing it ... I feel really bad for him. Is this physical or nervous? It's the only area he chews on and he's very determined when it bothers him. Any ideas?
This is probably related to the nervous system. Why don't you talk to your pet about anti-anxiety pills. vetcare
