I have a poodle/chihuahua mixed puppy that is 9 months old. She has problems with her throat which seems to bother her more at night when she is sleeping. She is constantly moving her head while sleeping or changing positions as if she is having trouble breathing in that position. During the day I do not notice it as much. She does not have a cough. Her glands in her neck also seem to be swollen. She also gets strangled while drinking water but does not seem to have problems eating food. I have taken her to the vet twice for this and they have given her antibiotics, which seems to help temporarily. Also, at night her nose and mouth seems to get very dry and you can hear her constantly swallowing. When playing with toys in her mouth she always makes snorting sounds. Sometimes this seems to clear up for awhile and then it flares back up. I am baffled. Do you have any ideas what might be causing this?
I recommend that you ask your vet to take x-rays and blood tests. This may help with an answer. vetcare
