I will soon be adopting a puppy diagnosed w/demadex. How serious is this infection and how quickly can it be cured. Also what are the most current treatments. Thanks!!
I usually treat Localized demodex with a special dip called mitaban. I give 2-3 dips 2 weeks apart for localized demodex. I treat Generalized demodex (demodex all over the body) with oral ivermectin for several months, sometimes. This is a more serious form of demodex and do not recommend that you buy a puppy with it. Localized demodex is not a big deal and is very common. vetcare
