Ticks are hard to detect, but can leave a trail of destruction that is anything but. With the Preventic Dog Collar, you get up to three full months of around the clock protection from nature's littlest vampire. Once the collar is on, it starts working within 24 hours. Resistant to water, there is no need to worry about being caught in a sudden shower (although it is recommended that the collar be taken off before a bath or swim time).

It should be noted that the Preventic Dog Collar only protects your dog from ticks, and not against fleas or heartworm. Other medications should be used in conjunction with the collar to guard your dog against all forms of pests looking to make your pooch their host.

Is Preventic Tick Collar Safe?
Answer

Yes. Preventic Dog Collar is a safe, tested, and FDA-approved tick collar for dogs. It doesnโ€™t cause any known side effects. The collar starts working within 24 hours of application and continues to work for up to 90 days. Preventic Tick Collar for dogs isnโ€™t suitable for puppies under 12 weeks of age. It isnโ€™t recommended for use on cats as well. Also, if your dog shows any signs of skin irritation or discomfort after wearing the collar, you should immediately remove it and take your pet to a veterinarian. Itโ€™s recommended that you consult your vet before getting Preventic Tick Collar for your dog.

Does Preventic Collar Kill Fleas?
Answer

Preventic Dog Collar works against all four types of ticks for up to 3 months after application. It doesnโ€™t work against fleas, heartworms, and other parasites. Itโ€™s always a good idea to talk to your vet to find the right combination of medication, dog collars, and other tools to prevent any pests and parasites from attacking your pooch.

How Does Preventic Collar Work?
Answer

Preventic Tick Collar comprises a flexible PVC strap thatโ€™s saturated with amitraz, a neurotoxin that affects the central nervous system of ticks. The toxin starts working within 24 hours of application. It affects the feeding mechanism of ticks and causes them to detach from a dogโ€™s skin and ultimately, die. Preventic Tick Collar is known to eliminate 100% of ticks within 48 hours. It continues to be effective for up to 90 days.

How Long Does Preventic Collar Last?
Answer

Preventic Tick Collar offers protection against tick infestations for up to three months after application. The collar kills nearly 95% of ticks within the first 24 hours. The presence of amitraz continues to repel and kill ticks whenever they latch onto your dogโ€™s body. While the collar is water-resistant, you should remove it before taking your pooch for a bath or swim.

Are Tick Collars Bad for Dogs?
Answer

Tick collars are generally considered safe for dogs. Theyโ€™re extremely effective in protecting your dog against long-term tick infestations. It is, however, necessary to use an FDA-approved or EPA-regulated collar, such as Preventic Tick Collar. Also, watch out for signs of skin irritation or toxicity after you first apply the collar. Also, itโ€™s essential to choose the right size of tick collar for your dog. For instance, Preventic Tick Collar comes in two sizes - 18โ€ (for dogs up to 60 lbs) and 24โ€ (for dogs over 60 lbs).

What Is the Best Tick Prevention for Dogs?
Answer

There are various types of tick prevention medications, topical treatments, and collars available in the market. If youโ€™re looking for a long-term tick prevention treatment, Preventic Tick Collar is a great choice for keeping ticks away for up to 3 months. It uses a plastic strap impregnated with amitraz to keep ticks at bay. It removes 100% of ticks within the first 48 hours of application. Make sure you consult your vet or a pet specialist before starting any tick prevention treatment.

What Do Vets Recommend for Flea and Tick Control?
Answer

Youโ€™ll find a diverse array of products, including topical ointments, oral medications, and collars, to prevent flea and tick infestations. While flea and tick shampoos are also available, theyโ€™re only effective in killing adult fleas. Depending on your dogโ€™s breed, age, and overall health, your vet will recommend a combination of topical and oral treatment. Many vets also recommend tick collars, such as Preventic Tick Collar to offer long-term protection against ticks. It works for up to 3 months and doesnโ€™t cause any harmful side effects to your dog. Also, itโ€™s easy to apply, and a great solution for dogs that donโ€™t enjoy taking oral medications.

What Repels Ticks Naturally on Dogs?
Answer

Essential oils, such as lavender, eucalyptus, citronella, and peppermint, act as natural tick repellents. You can use them in diluted form to create tick repellent sprays. Or you can dilute and mix these oils with your dogโ€™s shampoo before bathing them. It is, however, essential to consult your vet before applying any essential oils to your dogโ€™s fur and skin. Apart from essential oils, lemon and vinegar also have tick repellent properties. Make sure you mix these ingredients with a suitable amount of water before using the solution as a shampoo for your dog.

Amitraz

There are no known side effects but be sure to remove the collar at the first sign of skin irritation or adverse reaction.
