My cat loves this food ! He is very finicky and this is the only food that he will eat consistently/

My cat loves canned food. I like this product because it is a more natural and healthier alternative to some of the other brands on the market.

This food is one of the only foods that helps my giant maine coon mix with his sensitive stomach issues. The reduced calories also helped get him to a healthy weight so he isn't so "giant" anymore.

I have a younger cat who is very fussy about canned food. I must have tried dozens of different varieties of canned food and she loves the Instinct canned food. The older cat loves it too. Thanks for making a canned cat food that is actually good for my cats!

My 13.5 year old Dachshund has been eating NV (all variations) for about 7 years now and I can't say enough good things about this food. Vibrant eyes and a silky coat are not the only benefits either. He still has plenty of energy and stamina on our walks and no one believes he is going on 14 years old, which he will be in September! As the title says, this is a awesome food!!

My cat loves the chicken flavor - particularly when there is a lot of juice!
by Nico on 07/14/2015
I tried this food for my VERY picky cat, this is the one food she will consistently eat. I have now started giving her the dry with the raw boost in it and she also eats that well. Thank you for saving me the frustration of throwing out food trying to get her to eat!!

Smokey is my youngest of cats and has now had digestive problems eg vomiting and diarrhea for several years until I introduced him to Nature's Variety Instinct... it acted on him like magic and he now will only eat the original chicken and never touches the kibble I feed the other cats which is also a grain free kibble ... the price is high but I hope to be able to continue feeding it to only him... though I'd love to be able to afford to feed it to all of them... but I doubt that will happen when I go on only a canadian pension after this month ...
by dodi305 on 05/23/2015
My cat isn't so crazy about it. He'd leave some on his bowl, and come back to eat some more later on. When he likes his food, there usually would be nothing left as soon as he's done eating. It's a great cat food, and I'm sure lots of other cats love it. Just not my cat...

My cats have some health issues and learned that grain free is the only way to go. รย Problem was I couldn't get them all to agree on the same food until Instinct. รย They all love it. รย Each has a favorite favor. รย The salmon, chicken and pork seem to be the best but they also like rabbit and duck.

I had an adopted feral cat that was very sick with IBD and cancer but was truly an angel. At the time it seemed that raw food was the only option out there but it was so time consuming to prepare and required proper proportions of all kinds of supplements. I now have 2 healthy kittens and have vowed to only feed them the best food after having learned that IBD is so prevalent in cats and realizing that their diet is solely based on me making the right choice. I have done a lot of research and determined that Instinct food has the right proportions of carbs, fats and required nutrients without compromising quality. The cats love it and have never refused to eat a single can. I've tried all flavors. I use the raw boost also and love the convenience of a raw food in a dehydrated form.Unlike other companies, Nature's Variety is a quality company with meaningful(transparent) nutritional information and many grain free options for convenience and lifestyle.รย

Working with health-challenged cats on a daily basis, I believe in feeding quality foods. รย Better food = better health. รย Nature's Variety Instinct canned diets are a major part of our food program. รย The cats love the food and we love that they are getting top quality nutrition! รย

My cat really likes this product and always asks more than I feed. :)

I discovered Instinct Chicken Formula while trying to save my little Sneezer's life. My Sneezer weighed 28 pounds and for her size was grossly overweight. She also started to develop an tolerance for all foods that were grain based. I tried many different varieties of dry and wet food and things kept getting worse. Finally, I was visiting a local pet store, and the owner said I should try Instinct Chicken Formula wet food and within days I had significant improvement. In a few more weeks, I had a new kitty. Sneezer has been on Instinct Formula for about a year and a half now and she now weighs 13.5 pounds and has so much energy and life. One of the most important facts that I want to tell you is that Sneezer is 14 years old now and acts like she is 5 years old.
I
don't know how long I will have my old friend, but I think Instinct has given me another nine lives for Sneezer.

My cat loves this stuff. รย He gets a mixture of dry and wet food and he especially likes the Instinct canned food! รย It's never given him an upset stomach like some other brands have.
by ebertja on 02/11/2014
My indoor kitty loved the healthy weight chicken! He is naturally "big boned", approx 18 lbs. I love this product to keep his weight in check.รย
by BigBonedKitty on 02/10/2014
I actually really like this product line, although the price is bit pricey compare to other brands. I have tried all grain-free can cat food brand, still like this one the best. When you open the can, you can tell they are made our of real meat, not meal, and they smell good too. I put Instinct with other brand can food in one bowl, my cat ate Instinct first.รย

My kitty had a hard time finding a can he liked... finally after trying 3 different VERY EXPENSIVE brands, I tried Instinct. He loves all the varieties and they are a healthy yet frugal option.
by MurphieLove on 02/10/2014
Switched from dry to canned and haven't looked back!
by bluefeather on 02/08/2014
I like to feed him the flavors he'd find more natural so i don't get lamb, venison, pork, or beef. But he loves all the other flavors. I tend to feed 25% wet 75% dry or sometimes wet as a treatรย
by bengalbob on 02/07/2014
When my kitten got foxed, he was unable to keep his food down for days. This was the only food his stomach could handle, and if it weren't for Instinct, I don't know how my baby boy would have fared!รย

Nowadays, รย its difficult to find a company that will stand by their food and do voluntary recalls if they suspect for even a moment that they may have cross contaminated something. รย Nature's Variety has this kind of accountability toward their product, and it comforts me to know that they care about the quality of their food. รย
I've feed this food to 1 of my cats, on and off for 5 years. รย She has a very sensitive GI tract so no food sits well with her for long. รย However, รย Nature's Instinct always sits well with her and fills her up faster than the cheaper end foods. รย You may be paying almost twice as much for a can, รย but รย also keeps them fuller, longer. You'll see a difference in their coat and their energy within 2 weeks. รย
by JRoz21 on 02/07/2014
Nature's Variety was overwhelmingly recommended by my local retailer, and they were right on! Stasiu started out as an abandoned, feral kitten (i.e., rough start). She took to Instinct cans, kibble and treats immediately. Her coat is gorgeous, she is maintaining her weight, and even the vet is impressed with her overall health and appearance. We are very impressed with the product line and variety and are absolutely satisfied consumers!

One of my cats, Costello, was suffering from digestion problems and terrible diarrhea for about 3 years. Several vets could not figure it out, and I began to do my own research. I saw lots of suggestions to go grain-free, even to try a canned only diet and completely remove dry food. One of the brands recommended was Nature's Variety Instinct, so I gave it a try. รย Within just 3 days I saw a significant improvement! I couldn't believe it! For the first time in 3 years Costello had normal, firm stool. He has also stopped vomiting. Since then I have kept him only on Nature's Variety Instinct canned food and he has been a much healthier and happy kitty. This food has helped save him (and me) from years of suffering. Thank you for such a great product!
by droxxie11 on 02/07/2014
This is a canned meal I certainly don't feel guilty about feeding! Its a natural diet that keeps my cats healthy and packed with energy! Thanks Nature's Variety! รย

My cat is diagnosed with inflammable bowl disease and is now on a grain free diet. Finding food that she likes can be challenging, even more so now. I got this for her and she loves it! รย She is now more spunky and is gaining weight that she needs to. yah! We are both happy!
by Mesiamese on 02/07/2014
This is a great food. I switched from wellness when I noticed the quality going down and they were bought out by a big manufacturer. My cats have been on this for 6 months and are happier than ever.
by carey4431 on 02/07/2014
This was the first flavor I gave my cats of this food and they LOVE it. They go nuts when they see me with the can! :)
by LoBotomy on 02/07/2014
I've been gradually making a switch to NV's Instinct products as I've done research and found the company's ethos really commendable. My 10 month old loves your kibble, raw/frozen medallions, and canned food. His favorite flavor is the chicken. I never have to worry about him finishing whatever I put down. give him 2 minutes and the plate is clean! He's also having regular and solid bowel movements (yay!) and is energetic. Thank you!
by jtan on 02/07/2014
My three cats love all of the flavors and literally claw at my legs as I prepare their dinner. รย I can't pick a specific favorite flavor, as they don't seem to have a preferance.
by CatMom on 02/07/2014
This product is awesome. There are not a lot of grain free pet foods that help with weight gain.
by xxikayixx on 02/07/2014
My cats love the freeze dry, the frozen, the cans and especially the treats. I love the fact that I am feeding them healthy foods. Plus, I no longer have to buy a lot of litter (I have 5 cats) and don't have to clean it as much as I did before changing to this diet. Their poo is now small and semi hard like they should be. The last stray I took in had major food problems until she started eating this raw diet. Now she is starting to fatten up a little and all of them have beautiful shiny fur and they are more active. This product is worth every penny.
by MissyLP7 on 01/22/2013
All four of my cats are healthier and happier from being fed Nature's Instinct Chicken Canned Food. They have eaten this for almost a year and won't touch anything else. Actually it smells good to me (most cat food smells yucky)!
by AliceT on 11/16/2012
When I adopted my Lola at 8 months, she was given up from her previous owners because she has a sensitive stomach and she had diarrhea issues. I researched a lot about cat nutrition and learned that a grain free diet are the best as cats are obligate carnivores and Nature's Variety main ingredients are from real meats and not animal by products. She has only eaten Nature's Variety products since she has been with me and she loves wet food chicken! There is no more diarrhea and she loves to run! Lola is a snowshoe kitty!
by JoAnn on 11/16/2012
Started feeding this food to my kitty who had terrible autoimmune disease. I tried multiple limited ingredient and allergy diets, and this is the only food that made any difference. She readily ate all six canned flavors, and her skin disease was much less angry after starting this food. (She has since passed away, but ate this diet exclusively for almost 2 years and did great on it).
Enter the new kitty, who was overweight, constipated, and had a terrible hair coat when I got her. After 3 months of feeding Instinct Canned, she is slim, regular, and soft as silk!
My other kitty loves it too... when I got him from the shelter he looked like he was 15 years old, and now he looks like a youngster! Sleek fur, bright eyes, and full of energy.
As a vet student, I am fairly picky about what I feed my pets, and I am very impressed with Nature's Variety, both in terms of their formulations and they way they source their ingredients. A top notch company!

Great product- I was having a hard time finding a quality canned cat food that did not contain Carrageenan- thanks for making this!

Salsa, my 12 year-old Flame Point Siamese had lost almost half his body weight from Inflammatory Bowl Disease. We had an awful time trying to find food he would eat. Then we tried the Instinct grain free.
He loves it! He now eats. He has gained almost all of the weight he lost back in under 6 months. He feel good. He's back to playing , and talking. We no longer have to cajole him or doctor food to try to get him to eat just a little.
This food has helped save my kitty!
by MeganG on 11/15/2012
My girl is doing great and the grain free has cleared up all her digestive issues, which makes us both very happy! She is on canned only for weight loss and is on her way to reaching a healthy weight!

You want to see a cat run through the house at warp speed to the kitchen? Just pop the top of the can of this Chicken Delight! You'll see three cats tear down two flights of stairs at break-neck speed all to sit, drool, pace, whine and pace some more until the chicken hits the dish. I originally start using the food as a means to an end to get medicine down, but it turn out to be a really healthy and tasty choice I'm happy to serve them.

I love this product and so does my cat...i was afraid she wouldn't like it since i never used it until a cat expert told me to buy it and i did and now we both love it...a little pricey but cheaper than vet bills :)
