Absolutely a great product to buy for your cat's oral health...
by Happy Cat Parent on 07/08/2023
My cat absolutely loves this product and her veterinarian highly recommend this product, and I just absolutely love this product because it's great for my cat.
by Pet Parent on 07/08/2023
Just tried this with my cat. He has had bad breath for a very long time. Vet has never mentioned any health concerns. Within a week of feeding him this his breath has improved 80%. So impressed! I imagine that it was some of tartar that clung to his teeth as a result of the wet food I give him. This seems to clean it up like a tooth brush, not to mention he seems to enjoy the crunch!
by Sherry on 04/20/2023
My cat was on Hill's Science diet food as he needed to lose weight. But then his vet says he has dental problems so I started him on this. He seems to enjoy it - ate it happily from the first. He's getting the recommended amount but he's acting as if he's starving after every meal, and trying to get more food. I mean, he's unhappy about his weight-loss diet, but his behaviour is now more extreme. He's otherwise active and lively. His stools have also been loose. I replaced one meal of dry food with tuna and the improvement in his digestion was immediate. I think I'll try adding a little in his meals so hopefully he gets the dental benefit that way.

My cats are having a terrible time eating this food because it's so large. I am not sure if breaking it up with provide the same benefits.
by Michele on 01/23/2021
My cats love it and it is great for their teeth. I have had compliments of their teeth and lack of tartar on them every time I take them to the vet. I mix this with Science Diet indoor and it is enjoyed by all 3 cats!
by LoriB on 11/06/2020
I have used Oral Care with all my cats for over 15 years. I mix it in to their regular kibble at a 25% ratio. It keeps their teeth clean. Sometimes a cat will swallow a chunk whole if it can't bite in, which defeats the purpose. If these were slightly smaller there might be more chewing. I REALLY wish there was a non-chicken variety for my chicken allergy cats!
by Dawn on 01/17/2018
This product is great and my cats luckily love it because their teeth aren't the greatest. My only issue is that it doesn't come in the larger size bags like the other types do.
by notlanding on 06/13/2017
I have been using this product for a while. The pieces are large enough that my cats have to chew them completely. I like that, as it aids with their overall oral care.
by CharHon on 07/17/2016
I have tried numerous cat foods and Hills Science Diet dry food my cats like the best. The Oral care is helpful in keeping their teeth clean.
by grannyjo204 on 06/29/2016
I have been feeding my two Persians TD Dental dry per my veterinarian for 6 years. It's wonderful in keeping tartar at bay on their teeth...And they love, love it!!!!!
by TwoPurrs on 06/29/2016
My first cat had a MAJOR dental cleaning at age 4. I switched her to SD Oral Care and she didn't need another cleaning for 11 years and even then, it was a stage 1! Two of my current cats had to have dentals at just over a year. I recall the vet remarking how one had tartar even as a kitten!. They're all on Oral Care and at their last wellness visit (they're 3 now), the vet gave them a thumbs up for teeth and gums! A little bit of extra $ spent on quality kibble has saved me $, and better yet, has spared my girls from additional dental procedures. Thanks!!
by NinaB on 02/22/2016
I mix the Oral Care food with the cats other dry food and their teeth are always white, clean, and healthy. I just wish this product still came in bigger bags.
by KYgirl413 on 10/07/2015
My vet suggested it for my 9 year old cat with dental issues. It took a few weeks for her to finally eat it without mixing it with her normal food but now she loves it and eats it with no prodding. We'll see what the vet says next visit.
by theslope on 09/23/2015
My Vet sells Science Diet, feels that is what my pets need to help keep their teeth/mouth good. I have had to have 2 of my cats teeth cleaned-pulled. Since they are now on Oral Care their annual reports have been good. My Vet is pleased
by Littlejoe on 09/05/2015
Not knowing how this larger sized dry food would go over, I purchased a smaller 7 lb bag to mix in with the other dry science diet I feed my cats. They liked it. Since the size of the pieces are so large, I'm content with mixing a bag with another dry food.
by MLShopper on 06/07/2015
I have 2 cats, one is 12 yrs old and the other is 4. My older cat had dental issues and required an extraction. Plus he had scaling on his teeth. Since I've switched to the dental formula about 3 years ago, I've had no further issues and I wish I'd started him earlier on it. As for my younger cat, he's fine and thinks they're treats. They both get plenty of exercise chasing those little balls around. Now if I could only get them from hiding some of them under the couch, I'd be a happy camper
by ConnieLynn on 11/19/2014
I have found that the Oral Care food really does clean my cat's teeth. The stains are much less than they were and her gums look better too. I also like that she actually has to chew her food instead of swallowing it whole. This seems to result in less throwing up also.
by Cookieboots on 10/17/2014
This was by far an excellent choice for my cats. From day one when I was transitioning them from their current food, they sought the Science Diet out. They are so happy now at meal time. I plan to get them canned Science Diet for added happiness. I love that the first ingredient is chicken and it is natural and great tasting for my pets. After research on other products, I am happy I choose Science Diet and so are my cats. Thanks for making a great product.
by opc77Fleming on 10/13/2014
I am an LVT so keeping my cats teeth clean is very important to me. I have fed them Oral Care in hopes to help keep the cost of having to have their teeth cleaned down. Well, to my surprise none of my cats have had to have dentals ( I have three 8yr old & one 13yr old) so I have been very pleased with this diet.
by bauerpsk on 10/02/2014
I am hoping that the oral care will reduce/prevent further tartar buildup on my cars teeth. They enjoy both the dry and wet foods. The health of my cats is the most important thing to me.
by Teach on 10/01/2014
My cat love this food, I don't ,if is the smell or the flavour but right now is her first choice of food. THANKS
by Pancha on 09/09/2014
We have been feeding our cats this product for 9 years. Along with hair ball control and adult food. They eat it every day and don't seem to get tired of it.
by Mary71 on 08/26/2014
It is the best for our cats and it is required by our vet, but we could use more coupons
by rita61 on 08/11/2014
Very few of my cats will allow me to do much of an examination in their mouth so I cannot speak to that, but I can say that all 9 of my cats loved the taste of the food.
by dillfam on 07/12/2014
My cats love it. But, last few purchases bags seemed stale.
by bball327 on 07/09/2014
I've been feeding my cats Oral Care dry food since they were a year old. They are now six. At first, I was less than happy with the ingredient list, but the food (along with brushing) seems to have positive results. They have minimal tartar build-up and have so far never needed a dental cleaning. I was very happy to see that the formula was recently improved, with chicken as the first ingredient. My cats love this food and I will continue to buy it as long as it's available.
by MaxxMouse on 07/04/2014
My two year old rescue kitty switched over to Science Diet as soon as I adopted him. He is on your Oral and regular dry foods and loves them. He has gained several pounds and his coat and teeth look fabulous. Big change from the food he was on when I got him. He searches out the Oral food first as he really likes the flavor. I highly recommend Science Diet dry food as every cat I have ever had, and they have all been lifetime pets, has thrived.
by dimaro on 07/02/2014
My cats have cleaner teeth since using Science Diet Oral Care and it helps keep them healthier and happier. They have not experienced bad breath or any adverse reaction to feeding them this cat food, and I've been purchasing it for them for years.
by twokatz on 06/10/2014
The only problem with the Oral care dry food is that our cats enjoy it so much that sometimes they shun the regular food and act like they have no food after eating all the "big pieces". Nevertheless, it is a great product, expensive though, and clean their teeth very well.
by victoreme on 06/10/2014
My cat really enjoys this food. I mix a few pieces in with his regular dry food and feel confident that he gets the benefit of excellent oral care. I have been feeding this product to him for about two years, and I can recommend for overall dental care for your cats.
by paynee on 06/10/2014
My cat loves this food, maybe because is more bigger bits, but she love it. Thanks my cat and I appreciate this products so much.
by milagros126 on 05/23/2014
My cat had severe bad breath so my vet recommended the oral care food and I haven't had any issues since switching her food!
by Alecia on 05/20/2014
I have been using this particular product for a few years now, along with the Indoor formula. This is probably their favorite Science Diet product. I feel that is has helped in keeping their teeth in good shape. Will continue to purchase this product.
by dmricciardi on 05/14/2014
Samantha loves the Adult Oral Care but she only has one complaint that the morsels are big. Other than that, she loves the taste and it does help to freshen her breath. I do like that the Adult Oral Care is balanced for dental and complete health. Overall I will purchase again.
by Samantha01 on 05/09/2014
Science Diet Oral Care cat food does an excellent job keeping my cat's teeth clean and also minimizes bad breath due to plaque build-up. 4 or 5 nuggets each meal is all that is needed to keep her teeth clean. The small (about 3 pound) bag lasts about 3 months for one cat. An excellent option versus trying to brush my cats teeth.
by Bob721 on 05/07/2014
I not only purchase the Oral Care, also SD Hairball Control, SD Longevity, Ideal Balance and one of my cats is on prescription WD both wet and dry. My cats through out the years have always picked out the SD brand kernels when ever I tried to mix in another brand type. I mix the Hills brands together. They always pick out the Oral Care kernels first within the mixed bowls of hard food. We go through Oral Care bags two to one. Eating Oral Care keeps their teeth and gums clean because of the large kernel size.
by Diane25 on 05/07/2014
I tried both Hill's Science Diet Adult Oral Care dry food, and also Science Diet's TD Prescription food, and the Science Diet Adult Oral Care food won, hands down, My cats wouldn't touch the Prescription food, but absolutely love the Oral care one. The Kibble pieces are a bit larger that in the other Science Diet foods, to make it easier for cats to chew - but feel lighter & denser than other kibble. One of my cats who has issues in his mouth has a lot of trouble eating dry food in general, and he had no problem with this food.
by doglover1 on 05/07/2014
One of my two cats loves it so much he picks out the Oral Care nuggets from the diet food I mix it with. He is 10 years old and I never have to have his teeth cleaned.
by Adrienne50 on 04/26/2014
It does exactly what it says. My kitties (all three) have beautiful teeth. Ages range from 7-11, all have great choppers. White, clean, and strong. I attribute this to Science Diet Oral Care. They have all had it since it was introduced and I haven't looked back since.
by kharadite on 04/19/2014
As long as I feed my cats Oral Care, they don't have to have dental cleanings at the vet. Good for them, good for my budget.
by Cowsmeow50 on 03/29/2014
my cat has a tartar problem and had to have dental work done, but the vet recommended Science Diet Oral Care and my cat just loves it! THANKS!!!
by strayMAGNET on 03/11/2014
I have two cats that have been eating this brand for five years. Every year they have good reviews from the vet on their teeth. My previous cat had trouble with her teeth, I wish I'd used oral control during her lifetime as well.
by 2CoCats on 03/05/2014
The cats are happy but I am delighted with the new "Velcro" closure on the top of the food bag. This is a great idea. The top is easy to seal and easy to open. I can open the whole top and reach in and grab a fistful so simply. Science Diet this is a big atta boy! Thank you.
by travelingfool on 02/18/2014
It works, and the cats love it, I have 4 cats and this helps keep their teeth and gums in good health,
by henry on 02/17/2014
Instead of paying for expensive dental cleaning, I have given my two cats Science Diet Oral Care dry food for several years. Each time they go in for their annual checkup, my vet says their teeth and gums look great and there is no need for them to undergo the stress and expense of dental cleaning. I told my vet that they get Hill's Science Diet Oral Care once a day every day and it is really working to keep their teeth and gums healthy. Plus, they love the flavor and eagerly eat it.
by Carolynk on 02/03/2014
I'm Biscuit & 3 years old my BFF Gus is 9. For both us oral care is so important, to keep our breath nice & teeth free of plaque. This dry food is super tasty and the shape & size of the nuggets have us crunching & chewing for a nice length of time. Gus & I are both picky so excellent that we found a dry food that we both enjoy & is good for us!
by TheBiscuit on 02/03/2014
I was looking for an affordable food that was healthy for my cat's teeth. My picky cat enjoys the taste and has no difficulty crunching down on the kibbles. She seems to fill up easily on the food. I also love the easy Velcro closure. It is so much fun to close but also takes only a fraction of the time compared to the Ziploc style bags.
by Lilys2014pincushion on 01/30/2014
My pets have been eating the TD for about 3 months. They love the taste and when they hear the rustle of the bag opening they come running. I do not leave this for them to graze on and only give it to them when I feed them. I have not taken them back for a health check since I have been feeding them this so I am uncertain of the health benefits at this point. I will be anxious for their next health check to determine the effectiveness of this product. However, they do love it.
by Ilsasmom3 on 01/30/2014
the Oral Care did make a difference and our cat's breath is improved
by plsl on 11/15/2013
Recently rescued a stray cat from our apartment complex. After I would feed him wet food his plate smelled like rotten mouse carcass after licking the plate clean (Yuk, I would hold my breath while washing his plate). I fed him Oral Care for dry food the first week while he was being quarantined from our other four cats. His breath cleaned up after a few days and now eats the Oral Care as a side dish along with Adult Ideal Balance.

My senior siamese kitties have lost teeth in past years. I believe that by providing this food I'm helping maintain their teeth for as long as possible.
by nishin38 on 11/06/2013
My cat that passed had rotten teeth and the vet recommended Hills Oral Care dry.It works I have 6 cats with beautiful teeth, thanks.
by birdiegirl on 11/06/2013
When I got my cat from the shelter a year ago I took her to my vet to be checked out & was given a bag of the Oral Care. I mix it with my cat's regular dry food & it's one of the first things she picks out. When my cat is happy I am as well :-)
by Priestess on 10/18/2013
My cat had to have teeth pulled when she was less that 2 and my vet recommended Science Diet Oral Care. I have been using it for 5 years and haven't had anymore teeth problems since!

MY JAZZY JUST LOVES THIS! HE WILL EAT THIS FIRST ALTHO I MIX HIS DRY FOOD WITH OTHER DRY FOOD
by bozzjazz on 09/29/2013
We feed our 15-year-old cat a combination of wet and dry food. We add a little Oral Care to her kibble. When we took her in for vaccinations and a check up, the vet was surprised to see that her teeth still are perfectly clean. We believe that Oral Care has saved us a lot of money we have not had to spend having her teeth cleaned at the vet's.
by OwnedbyRosie on 09/26/2013
My cats all love the oral care dry food. Agrees with their tummies and tastes great. ^..^ Keeps their teeth healthy and their fur shiny too.
by Cynner on 09/26/2013
When I tried to give my cat a cheaper food mixed, she ate around the cheap food to eat Science Diet . I also LOVE that there are coupons I can use.
by jessie08 on 09/24/2013
We have been feeding this to our cats for years and so far they haven't needed dental work done by the vet.
by Pat14 on 09/11/2013
This food has kept my cat's teeth in excellant health.
by Mahealani on 09/07/2013
I have used the oral care for the dog I used to have, and now for my cat, and I can't say enough about how great this is for keeping their teeth in great shape. My Cat is now 6 1/2 and still does not need to have any procedures done to clean her teeth, which means I don't have to subject her to being put under for the procedure and I don't have to worry about her being put under for the procedure. I recommend this product to all of my friends!
by CaliladyinSacto on 09/07/2013
I am so satisfied with Science Diet Oral Care - it helps keep my cats' teeth clean and their breath fresh. I've been giving it to them for years and have not had to have their teeth professionally cleaned at the veterinary clinic. I have three cats and I feed it to all of them. So glad you have this product in your extensive line of pet foods.
by tigerdish on 07/04/2013
my cats are 10 years old and they have never needed to have their teeth cleaned.
by FATTWOSLIM on 07/02/2013
we use oral care to help with our cats breath, we switched once only to go right back after as it did help with oral care. the only thing I don't like is the smell of the food it is pungent and I do not like to have the smell in my house.
by LPember on 06/30/2013
Really love the oral care product. Instead of buying small bags of "treats" for our four cats, we have been giving them the Science Diet Oral care nuggets. They just love them & so much better for them. Thanks Hill's for the great product!!!
by islandbear on 06/29/2013
we will switch to oral care cat food. pros:high quality, good value, awesome taste cons:cat only eats product on labor day
by laborday1000 on 05/11/2013
My cats (ages 10 & 9yrs) have been on the Science diet oral care for 5 years with continuing great results. But the new Velcro Press-Lok on the bag is THE BEST. Thank you so much - sometimes the little things mean the most!
by carol65 on 03/03/2013
This was recommended from my vet because of tartar on my cats teeth. Worked wonderfully.
by Butterfly on 06/30/2012
My cat loves to cuddle near my face. Her breath however, smelled like something died and I did not want her that close to my nose. I got the Oral Care hoping it would help. It worked great! I can't smell her breath at all since she has been eating the Oral Care and we can get back to snuggling close. Her teeth are a beautiful white too!
by chalkpastels on 06/26/2012
This is my first cat as an adult. When I got him 4 years ago, though small and kitten-like in behavior, he appeared to be (what seems now to be) old before his time, hence the Humane Society had guessed his age at 3 years. His mouth was brown-- teeth and gums -- his breath, not so good. His fur was also skimpy and dull, skin -- itchy. Once I got him, the original cat food, recommended to me, caused him to fatten up quickly, so we switched him to Indoor food, but that made his skin dry out horribly, and his black fur always showed a lot of dandruff. When his vet mentioned that he had tartar on his teeth, I decided to look over the Science Diet food to see if I could pick a better one for him. I compared all the details of all that I found online, and I found Oral Care. I was also greatly assisted by carefully reading all the customer reviews, which were very detailed and helpful. Not long after starting him on Oral care, his teeth not only improved noticeably, but his fur thickened, his skin stopped shedding dandruff, and he became more vigorous. He also liked the taste of the food and ate well, but did not get fat on it. At his last vet appointment, going by the records he should now be 7 (3+4), but his vet was really astounded at how healthy he is. Not only does he have NO tartar on his teeth, he has NO problems of any kind. He is also very smart, has a wonderful personality, is athletic, well-trained. . . I could go on, but you get the message. Noting how we hadn't known his actual original age, his vet changed his records to show he is now 5, as it was apparently just his poor condition that made him appear older. His vet told me how impressed she was that I was able to find SD Oral care on my own. "It IS his food," she said. He is not a geriatric cat, after all! I am so pleased with this food. The only thing that could make me more pleased would be if I could ever find it at a sale price, the way I often see the original and Indoor. But, anyway, it is probably saving me a lot in intensive vet costs, so I'm willing to pay full price. By the way, I would upload pictures, if I had a camera.
by catmom61 on 06/04/2012
The Queen & the Iss only eat the oral care of Science diet. I do not like the canned food. It is too fusy. Their teeth are as clean as a whistle. And health issues usually can start in the mouth. I only wish that there were coupons for it. David & I are very pleased with it. Thank You for your time with this product!!!!
by Reviewer on 05/31/2012
Reccomended by my vet to clean teeth. Have been using for many years on all my cats. Allways got exelent results at yearly checkups. Never had to have cats teeth cleand and all my cats have loved the taste. It is a little pricey but saves on the long run with vet bills.
by Hank on 05/22/2012
Having had a cat who needed veterinary oral care, poor guy, I have come to appreciate the value of a good Oral Care dry food to give him and subsequent cats as a dessert after meals. When I cuddle my brood it is so nice to smell nice, clean breath, and see no gum problems or tooth discoloration. I definitely look for your Oral Care product whenever I'm buying cat food - my only complaint is that it's not always easy to find!
by GusMom on 05/18/2012
My cat is 11 years old and we have been using since she was a about 4 or 5. She will not eat any other dry cat food and she has great teeth for a Persian.

I have been feeding my 2 black cats (Stella and Sofia) a combination of Hills oral care food and Hills hairball control food since the day I adopted them 7 years ago. They are now 8 and 10 years old. On the most recent visit to the vet, she commented on their teeth, saying how plaque-free, strong, clean and healthy they were. I told her about this food, and she said it was really paying off. No teeth cleaning needed! Plus they love the flavor, what more could I ask for?
by blackcatsrule on 05/17/2012
All my kitties love the oral care. Just wish it came in a bigger size bag. It helps to keep their teeth clean and healthy.
by katlady on 05/17/2012
My vet recommended this because it has fiber that helps to satisfy hunger, thus help my cat control his weight. It is working and my other cats love the taste too! In addition, everyones breathe has improved. Their gums are less red so I'm hoping next visit they get passing grade. Because it's a more expensive food I add it to their everyday food. Everyone's happy including me.
by ivettey on 05/17/2012
Over many years, with all of our pets, ranging from kittenhood to 16+ years of age, we have incorporated the Oral Care into the mix of dry food for our babes. As a result, they always get rave reviews at their annual vet visits, including the most recent, our 16 year old man. Their teeth are in great shape, less frequent professional cleaning needed,ie: less trauma, less expense, less stress. We will continue to use the Oral Care as part of our feeding regimen.
by katmom on 05/17/2012
We just got back from yearly Vet visit, Bunny our cat is just three years old. He said she is in great shape, and her teeth are very good, no tartar, nice and white. She loves the food and we can see it is doing wonders for her health and teeth.
by Barb45 on 05/17/2012
The Oral Care food is quite expensive, but my cats really like it. There are never any leftovers. If I mix the food with another type this is the one they eat first.
by specksmom on 05/16/2012
I have two cats and they both look forward to meal time so they can get thier Science Diet, I mix it with regular dry food and they eat the science diet first. If I dont put any in thier dish they are very unhappy.

At her last check-up, my indoor feral orange tabby was determined to not have the best oral hygiene. Since it's difficult to catch her for a formal teeth cleaning (or any resaon), I looked to find alternate methods of improving her dental health. Mimi had been eating Science Diet Original formula 100% of the time, and I worried that she would reject the Sicence Diet Adult Oral Care. But she appears to like it! She's on her third bag now, and, after verifying with her veterinarian that the food CAN improve the condition of her teeth and gums, I recommend this to anyone who wants to keep a clean smile on their kitty's face!
by MimiMom on 05/16/2012
Science diet oral care is the only kind of dry food my four cats will eat. My cats are between the ages of 9 and 15, and none of them have had their teeth cleaned by a veterinarian, nor do they need to! My vet says that they have the teeth of 5 year olds. I owe it all to oral care. The big size of each pellet is too large to swallow (my husband and I call them "boulders"), so I know the cats are chewing each piece separately and getting the full value of plaque removal from their teeth. I have a back up bag of another brand of food if I run out of Science diet, but the cats turn up their noses at it and avoid the cat bowl until they see those tasty, large nuggets of oral care!
by Kitty on 05/16/2012
My cat Tigger had bad gums as a young cat and I had to have his teeth cleaned often. After I started him on Oral Care, his dental condition improved greatly. He hasn't had a teeth cleaning in years. Because the pieces are larger than the usual dry food, he is required to crunch and chew them, whereas before, he would swallow the smaller pieces whole. I have mixed in other dry foods for variety, but he leaves them in the bowl and just eats the Oral Care. Tigger is now 19 years old and has great teeth and eats his Oral Care every day.
by CDRBev on 05/16/2012
I have three cats with congenital dental problems. Each has had multiple extractions and every annual vet trip was followed by a dental visit. I brush their teeth as much as they'll tolerate but nothing worked consistently well until I tried Science Diet Oral Care. Adding a few kibble to each bowl every night before bed has turned vet visits into a breeze. the cats love the taste. The only problem is that the diet is fairly high in calories so I have to strictly moderate the amount of Oral Care that each animal gets.
by CatManChicago on 05/16/2012
I've used Oral Care for some years, on several cats. My big boy, Tommy, (21.5 lbs., but he really is big, from his paws to his head) loves this food. I mix or serve it with his other food, Ideal Balance, for example, and he almost always eats it first. He had very little tartar on his vet check, so it's working. Because you can mix it with other food, a bag lasts a while, and is quite economical. I will certainly continue to use it. Both our cats like he Ideal Balance, too. Tux has sampled the Oral Care, and seems to like it, but it's bit of a challenge as he's somewhat lacking in the teeth department.
by Moff on 05/16/2012
My cats get a combination of Hill's Science Diet Adult Light and Oral Care. My one cat loves the Oral Care so much, she runs to the feeder as soon as the lid pops open. She gobbles down the Oral Care first, leaving the rest for my other cat.
by WendeW on 05/16/2012
I have 10 cats and mix several different varaties of Science Diet . They all look for the oral care it is larger and in a ball shape. 2 of them will hit it around like a toy first then eat it. So they are getting exersize as well. I only complaint is that they dont sell it in large bags like all the other kinds ( unless the stores I have gone to just dont carry it. ) Either way I need to buy several bags just to mix it all equally. MY vet is also happy I give it to them.
by Karl on 05/16/2012
We have seven much-loved cats. I enjoy buying premium dry cat food from many companies' brands, but no matter which ones I mix together, for variety, I ALWAYS include the Oral Care formula as the largest ratio of kibble in the blend. Before anything else is eaten, all seven cats ALWAYS pick through to eat the large Oral Care pieces first. It is everyone's favorite!

I recently had to take one of my cats in to the vet to have some dental work done on him. When he was done, my vet recommended I feed all my cats dry food made for dental heath. I started with Hills Prescription Diet t/d and all my cats loved it. It's expensive but I give them each several nuggets with their canned food and put the Hills Science Diet Oral Care (which cost less) in their dry food bowl. My cats love both these products. Better to buy a good quality food and take care of their teeth at the same time.
