What Is the Healthiest Indoor Cat Food?
Answer

While selecting a cat food it is important to consider the factors like the nutritional requirement of the pet as per its prevailing condition. These conditions can refer to and are not limited to your petโ€™s metabolism, levels of activity, and the presence of any health ailment with which they are suffering from. If it is an indoor cat with limited activity during the day it is important to administer a feed that has stipulated calories that can be burned during the day by its actions within the perimeter of your house. A crucial aspect to note is that you can consider cat food that can prove to be useful for cats that have access to indoor conditions only. Diamond Naturals Cat food contains minerals, vitamins, and omega fatty acids in its specially curated antioxidant formulation. Thus, this natural formula is capable of helping your pet get the essentials for its upkeep and maintenance of superior health conditions.

Do Indoor Cats Need High Protein?
Answer

Whatever the surroundings are, the natural inclination or habit of an animal can not be changed. Therefore cats, being obligate carnivores, have to have a need for their survival. So whether your cat has more exposure to either indoor or outdoor conditions, they are to be fed with meat to complete their optimum dietary requirements for the maintenance of a healthy feline body. Veterinarians and experts also suggest that adult cats may need up to two to three times more proteins than a dog of the same age bracket may require. Therefore, since indoor cats do not have the opportunity to hunt their own prey, you should feed them a high-quality and high-protein-rich diet.

Why Is My Cat Always Hungry?
Answer

It is very important to maintain the optimum feeding requirements of a pet based on its age, body type, body weight, metabolism, levels of activity, and health conditions. Failing to meet the feeding requisites as per any of these defined parameters can result in your cat exhibiting signs of being hungry at all times. However, an alternative reason for the pets to remain hungry can also be their inability to extract the required energy from the regular meals. This is more so in cases where your cat is suffering from any health ailments or a chronic condition like diabetes. Under these circumstances, the cats are often incapacitated to rapidly break down the glucose content of the food. Thereby rendering them to be hungry and have an increased appetite at all times. Helping the cats with a balanced feed and specialized diet based on their health conditions can be a way to tackle such situations. You can also contact your petโ€™s veterinarians and see additional information on how to better tackle such conditions.

How Many Times a Day Should I Feed My Cat?
Answer

Normally it is advisable to feed your cats twice daily. The meals should have a gap of twelve hours. However, it is also worth mentioning that you can also choose to divide the optimum feed ratio as stipulated by your petโ€™s veterinarian or based on the information mentioned in the feeding guide of the food into four parts and administer them in such intervals. A crucial point to always keep in mind is never to cross the duration between two meals for more than twelve hours. Such an act can result in cats contracting hyper acidic conditions which can, later on, cause nausea in them.

Will Cats Stop Eating When Full?
Answer

It is seen that most of the pets do not understand their hunger and intake a lot more than actually what their body needs. These pets need special attention in terms of stipulating the feed ratios. Some pets can also be free-fed and they understand their hunger levels can act accordingly.

Transition Instructions

When transitioning your pet to a new food, we recommend a gradual introduction of the new formula over a 7 day period. For pets with sensitivities, extend the transition period to 10 to 14 days. Start by adding a small amount of your pet's new food to his or her current food. Gradually, increase the new food amount and decrease the current food amount at each feeding until you are feeding only the new food.

Affordable and Cat Approved
VERIFIED PURCHASER

My cats have really taken to this food variety. I'm uncertain whether that means it isn't very filling or if they like the taste, but it goes away faster than other varieties I've purchased and the cats seem pretty eager to get a crack at it. They've been energetic and of good health during their time eating it.
