About Animax Ointment
Animax Ointment is a combination antimicrobial and corticosteroid treatment, indicated for dogs and cats in the management of inflammation, dry or exudative dermatitis, and other skin disorders. It is particularly effective against bacterial or candidal infections.

Directions
Regulate administration of Animax Ointment as seems indicated by the severity of the condition, ranging from once a week to several times daily. To apply, clean the affected area and spread the ointment thinly; to prevent the spread of infection, do not use if pus is present. Wear gloves when administering the ointment, or wash hands afterwards.
To administer to the ears, first make sure that the ear canal is clean and clear of foreign objects, and then apply 3-5 drops of Animax Ointment.
Drain infected glands or cysts before applying Animax ointment.
Ingredients
Triamcinolone acetonide, nystatin, thiostrepton, and neomycin sulfate, with a polyethylene and mineral oil base
Side Effects
Side effects include great thirst and increased urination, vomiting and diarrhea (at times bloody). And weight gain; these may indicate that the steroids have been absorbed, and should be reported to a veterinarian. Temporary hearing loss can also occur when used in otitis treatment, and is cause for discontinuing use of the ointment. Cushings Syndrome is associated with extended steroid therapy as well.
Serious side effects can occur if used during pregnancy.
