Severe adverse reactions are likely to occur immediately after the intravenous administration of this injection. Pain, swelling and tenderness at the injection site may occur. Intramuscular administration of this injection may result in hematomas. There is also a possibility of allergic sensitivity, including an anaphylactoid reaction. The initial administration of this medication can cause severe reactions like hypersensitivity or anaphylaxis, including shock and cardiac or respiratory arrest. In some cases, intramuscular injection causes bleeding.

Dosage Information

When administering for the first time, administer a dosage of 1.15 to 2.25 mg/pound of subcutaneous injection followed by oral dosage of 2.5 mg/pound 2-3 times a day for 2-4 weeks. In dogs and cats, a dosage 0.25 - 0.5 mg/kg subcutaneously or intramuscularly can effectively treat acute hypoprothrombinemia (with hemorrhage) and non-acute hypoprothrombinemia. Intravenous administration can sometimes lead to harmful effects, and therefore, in situations where intravenous administration is unavoidable, dilute and inject very slowly at a rate of 1mg per minute. It is advisable to keep the dosage as less as possible. Discard use if the injection vial contains any particles or shows signs of discoloration.
