Exotic Shorthair
History
Exotic Shorthairs are stunning shorthaired versions of the Persian breed, which was internationally recognized in 1967 as a separate breed. Breeders cross bred American Shorthair with Persians, which later gave rise to exotic shorthair.
Appearance
Exotic shorthair is cuddly like a teddy bear, and has fully inherited the flat face and the shrill voice of the Persian. They are available in all the 96 colors of Persian that includes reds, shaded silver, tabby, color points, and black among others. Though it has a luxuriant coat, it requires only minimum grooming. It has a round, fat body with a short neck. The large round eyes, stumpy nose and appealing facial expressions make this cat endearing to all.
Personality
The Exotic Shorthair has a gentle and calm persona just like the Persian but is more fun loving and active. It has a good temperament and vibes well with other pets or children. It is quiet and only rarely meows. The Exotic Shorthair always likes to be in the company of its master and dislikes being left alone for long hours. They are perfectly suited for apartment dwellers as a lap cat. Though they are calm and cool, they are good at mouse hunting. Exotic Shorthair cats are loyal and affectionate and fit the bill of an ideal companion for the elderly who live alone.

The Exotic Shorthair has some medical concerns such as asymmetrical jaw, sinus tear duct problems, or eye diseases like Keratosis Sequestrium
