Indications for

Neomycin sulfate, isoflupredone acetate, and tetracaine hydrochloride are common ingredients for topical ointments indicated as treatment in dogs, cats and horses for many bacterial infections of the skin and ear apart from allergic infections. It is also effectively used as a dressing medicine for minor cuts, post surgical wounds, scrapes or burns. It is effective against many clinical conditions of dogs and cats like acute otitis externa, moist dermatitis, and anal gland infections. It is found to be useful after amputation of dewclaws, tails or ear trimming or castrating in dogs as it has topical anesthetic properties.TriTop ointment is a combination drug of three active ingredients including isoflupredone acetate (anti inflammatory), neomycin sulfate (broad spectrum antibiotic) and tetracaine hydrochloride (topical anesthetic)
Precautions when using

The external ear of the animal should be thoroughly checked to make sure that the tympanic membrane is not broken before applying the medication into the ear. If the animal presents any hearing loss during the therapy, withdraw the medicine forthwith and take the opinion of the veterinarian. If no significant progress is noticed or swelling and irritation persists even after three days of therapy, reconsider the treatment options. Do not use TriTop in animals with hypersensitivity to this ointment.

Prolonged application of TriTop might have side effects. Be watchful for symptoms of overdose, which might include hearing loss, dizziness, nausea and vomiting.
Dosage for
Neomycin sulfate, isoflupredone acetate, and tetracaine hydrochloride (TriTop Ointment)
TriTop is available in 10 gm tubes with convenient applicator tip. For ear infections, such as otitis externa, apply the ointment into the external ear canal 1 to 3 times every day. While treating skin infections care should be taken to clean the infected area before applying the medicine. Apply for 1 to 3 times a day as the anesthetic effect can relieve the pain thereby significantly reducing the trauma of the animal.
