Droncit feline 23mg falls under the category of dewormer drugs, and are efficient feline cestocide tablets. It is an effective medication, exclusively meant for the treatment of tapeworms in cats. The harmful feline cestodes like Dipylidium caninum and Taenia taeniaeformis are completely removed by the action of Droncit feline 23mg.Droncit feline 23mg works to make the tapeworm inactive and thus makes it unable to attach itself to the intestine of the cats. As a result, the parasite gets digested and eliminated from the body. Droncit feline 23mg can be safely used in pregnant or breeding cats too.

While administering Droncit, special care should be taken to maintain good personal hygiene as the tapeworms are highly contagious. Cats with a past history of allergy to praziquantel should be kept away from Droncit. It is also not recommended to use Droncit in cats less than six weeks old.

Dosage for

The ideal dosage suggested for cats depends on their body weight. For cats and kittens over 6 weeks and under 4lbs body weight, it would be best to give ½ a tab. For cats with a body weight of 5-11lbs give 1 tab, and for those over 11 lbs, 1 ½ tab would be sufficient. Administration can be done by crumbling and mixing it with food. It is not necessary to take the medication without food as fasting is neither necessary nor recommended by veterinarians. Dosage also depends on the size of the cats as smaller cats require higher doses because of the higher rate of metabolism in them. The dosage should not be increased or decreased without the advice of a veterinarian as over dosage can prove to be harmful. In case the pets exhibit symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea loss of appetite or salivation, seek immediate veterinary help. The duration of treatment can be prolonged only as per veterinary instructions, if the conditions do not improve within the stipulated time.
