Fenbendazole is an anthelminthic, used in the management of acute and chronic stages of parasite infections in pet dogs. The medication is active against a wide range of worm types like roundworm, whipworm, hookworm and tapeworms that cause a variety of diseases in animals. Febendazole inhibits or obstructs the energy metabolism of the disease-causing parasite. The anthelminthic property in this component provides quick remedy to gastro-intestinal as well as respiratory tract infections. Fenbendazole also doubles up as an ovicidal that kills nematode eggs. Other than dogs, the medication is also used in cats, puppies and kittens. The drug is available over-the-counter without a prescription and in the pharmaceutical form of granules.

For puppies and kittens that are less than six months of age, administer 50mg/2.2lbs for 3 days continuously. The medication is safe to be used in pregnant animals too; provide 25mg/lbs from 40 days of pregnancy. The medication should be mixed with food.
