About Kent Tech Cb Part A

Each of Tech•CB Part A and Part B is half of a ionically balanced, complete calcium and alkalinity control system for all marine aquariums. When used simultaneously in equal amounts the system will raise both the calcium and buffer level in the aquarium, and is phosphate, nitrate and gluconate free! Containing over 56,000 ppm of cationic calcium, predominately in the form of calcium carbonate, Tech•CB will produce an ionic residual with the composition of natural seawater! Each 16 oz. of Tech•CB will treat 1,900 gallons or 7,200 litres. We are finding improved results (i.e. faster growth rates) with this product, over Kalkwasser use alone, with many animals. We think that the constant addition of carbonate ions along with the calcium ions is working better than just adding buffer weekly, and dripping calcium daily.

Considerations for use: A pH of 8.0 to 8.3 and an alkalinity of 2.9 to 4.0 meq/L (8 to 11 dKH) is recommended. Calcium level should be maintained between 400 and 450 ppm. Test calcium & alkalinity and adjust the recommended dose for your particular system! Do not exceed 1/2 ml per gallon per 12 hour period. If you use Kalkwasser simultaneously with this product, use half the recommended dose of Kent Tech•CB. If you have trouble maintaining calcium or buffer level, check to see that the salt mix you are using has seawater level of magnesium. To save money and increase dissolvability, some manufacturers of popular newer salts have included only half the level of magnesium necessary in their sea salt mixes, resulting in low calcium solubility and poor buffering! If magnesium is low, use Kent Tech•M Magnesium.

Contents: Part A: deionized water containing the following ions: calcium, chloride, magnesium, strontium, bromide, lithium, rubidium, nickel, chromium, zinc, copper, cesium, iron, manganese, cobalt. Part B: deionized water containing the following ions: sodium, potassium, bicarbonate, carbonate, borate, fluoride, iodide, molybdate, selenate, vanadate, and tungstate.
