Rated 1 out of 5 by complete junk!!! I have had my reef tank up and going for 4 years now. The first three years i used hand-me-down skimmers of various types. They were free and if nothing else gave me good experience and knowledge into the workings of a skimmer. When i finially got my new skimmer i went with the Marineland 100 series because of the shop owners recominadtion. When i took it out of the box the air hose was kinked closed. Still being excited about my new purchase I fixed the problem myself. After the forever breakin period it started to produce a small amount of sludge. What i have found with this product is it is very sensative to the water level in the sump and warrents constant adjusting. This skimmer has never produced much waste product. Most of the sludge never makes it into the cup but rather builds up in the neck. This has been going on for almost a year and now the pump rattles and is going out im sure. Do not buy this product. Spend the extra money and buy a good product. March 22, 2012
