How Does Clemastine 2.68mg Work?
Clemastine 2.68mg is an antihistamine, which means it binds to histamine receptors in your pet's cells, preventing histamines from reaching those receptors and causing allergy symptoms. Histamines can cause redness, swelling, itching, and muscle constriction of the gastrointestinal and respiratory systems. Clemastine belongs to a group of antihistamines called H1 blockers.

The most common side effects for dogs are dry mouth, sedation, and hyperactivity. In cats the most common side effect is diarrhea.

This medication should not be used in animals allergic to it.

Use with caution on pregnant or nursing animals as Clemastine may enter the milk and have negative effects on the offspring.

Talk to your veterinarian before using Clemastine 2.68mg if your pet is taking vitamins or supplements, monoamine oxidase inhibitors such as furazolidine, selegiline, isoniazid, and amitraz, other central nervous system depressant drugs such as barbiturates or antidepressants, or if you are using flea and tick collars.

Use with caution if your pet is also taking sedatives or tranquilizers. Discuss any reactions your pet has had to medications in the past.
