Rated 5 out of 5 this med saved our dog's life This particular med. kills a lot of different nasty "bugs" in both humans and our dear canine friends. Our 8 yr. old Black Lab, Buddy, developed a MRSA (methycillin resistant staph aureus...a "superbug" that you probably have read about) infection post knee surgery. After the vets had thrown multiple heavy-duty (and expensive) antibiotics at him for several weeks, he eventually was put on a 6-week course of doxycycline. The infection resolved and in spite of some slight residual weakness in his affected leg, Buddy is almost as good as new. It just goes to show you that the most expensive meds are not always the most effective.*This is a prescription item November 9, 2005
