I had a difficult time finding a food that did not cause my dogs digestive/allergy issues especially to poultry and rice. When I started feeding them venison/potato formula they both did great. Now the ingredients have changed without any warning and I have to start all over with another brand.

I am so angry because no warning was given that this food has been discontinued. My dog has severe food allergies and after many food trials we finally hit on Nutro natural choice grain free venison and potato adult dog food. And his allergies are under control or I should say were! Now we have to start over again. The new venison food has chicken and chickpeas! The reason we switched to venison is because he is allergic to poultry. Not a very customer oriented move when you discontinue a hyperallergenic food and offer nothing else and give folks no warning it will be discontinued. Not happy.

I am very disappointed with Nutro! I have tried so many different dog foods and finally found this product that agrees with my greyhound. Last night I had to replenish and found this new formula which is not limited ingredient and also contains chicken in addition to the main ingredient of venison. It is also $10 more a bag and I go thru (2) 24lb bags in a month since I feed 3 dogs with this food. I have no choice but to try this new formulation and hopefully won't have the bad side effects of many other dry foods that I've tried in the past. Judging from all of the other similar reviews, it looks like I'm not alone in my opinion. Please consider going back to the old formulation, or I will have to start looking for another dog food that agrees with my dog.

After many changes in dog food, specifically with Venison Meal foods, this food was amazing for my dog. I am very sorry to see that it was changed and now has chicken and chick peas. Most people that look for a food that is neutral on allergies don't want chicken in their food. It seems that several other companies have made a similar change with the Chick peas. Not sure why but Nutro please bring back the original. I am very disappointed.

I'm so sad it's discontinued. Looking for an appropriate substitute. The new glycemic index formulas on the shelves make no sense to me. I read the ingredients on the new Venison and Chickpea formula and it contains chicken. Why would you feed your dog a novel protein like venison, if you wanted chicken in the food's ingredients? Makes no sense... we feed the venison due to food allergies (chicken & grains). I hope you hear your loyal customers comments here. Your grain free blend was the food I found after lots or trial and error and expense.

Rated 5 out of 5 by dallymom3 why change the wonderful formula
i have been feeding this to my dogs for years. Nutro has let my dogs down by letting retailers run out of a food with no warning. Now they are changing the formula?? the rep I spoke with they are replacing the potato with chick peas because of a lower glycemic index and owners wanted it. Then make a low glycemic formula and give us back our original Venison and potato formula. you are forcing us to find another brand by making this unavailable. I have already tried another beef and potato brand with disastrous side effects. I am worried for my babies digestive health while I try and introduce another brand. I don't appreciate you playing with my animals health by tinkering with ingredients. Please Nutro, bring back the original. please please....

Why change something that was working for so many dogs with food allergies? My dog cannot eat chicken and that's what was added to the new formula!

I am so upset this food has been discontinued. Our Goldendoodle has skin allergies and stomach reflux, this has really not been good for her. Since we switched to the Venison and Brown Rice she has been sick three times. It would have helped if we had known in advance so we coul have mixed her food, but, that did not happen. I believe everyone that was feeding their dog the Venison and Potato would like an explanation of why you discontinued this formula
