History
The Siamese is one of the ancient cat breeds and has its origin tracking back to South East Asia, Thailand. Believed to be sacred descendants, the breed was earlier known as Siam and was later renamed as Siamese. However the breed was introduced in Great Britain during 1884, and in America in the following years. The cat was loved for its more slender frame and underwent successive breeding with an intention to refine its looks. The purebred Siamese is one among the distinctly recognized in cat breeds and is widely favored for its unique features.
