History
The origin of the Balinese cats is quite a mystery. When some attribute the origin to the Siamese-Angora or Siamese-Persian crossing, others consider a spontaneous mutation as the source of this longhaired gene. Believed to have originated in the early 1900s, this Siamese with long hair was registered with CFF in the year 1928.

A longhaired Siamese, the Balinese cat could be differentiated from its Siamese cousins by a slight fringe on the underbelly. The firm-muscled cat is slim at the shoulders and hips.
