"I HAVE A FEMALE DOG SHE IS A BICHON I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT THOSE DOG."
The Bichon Frise is a small, sturdy, white powder puff of a dog whose merry temperament is evident by his plumed tail carried jauntily over his back. He loves to be the center of attention and is always eager to please. He makes a delightful and amusing companion. Gentle-mannered, sensitive, very playful and affectionate the Bichon is good with children and other pets. Thanks, PetcareRX Vet Team

"My dog had a seizure about ayear ago . We took him to the vet and he checked him out and said if he had anymore they would put him om some medicine for this. They couldn't find anything wrong with him. He has had two in last two months. the last one happened about 2a.m. He was watering from mouth ,got sick and stomach and had no control of his bowels. What do you suggest for this.He is healthy everother way.Thank you,Carolyn S."
If he is a young dog it is a good chance he could have epilepsy .The drug of choice would be Phenobarbital. Your dog should be able to live a happy life with proper medication. Please contact your vet. Thanks, PetCareRx Vet Team
"please I would like to know about my dog daisy she is a bichon frist and she has skin problem like the skin red."
Is her skin problem seasonal? That can be treated easily. Look into food allergies. Consult with your vet. Thanks, PetCareRx Vet Team
"Is there anything else available"
Yes Advantage is very good. I would talk to your vet and see what he/she says. I really need to know the breed of dog and history. Was your pet on any other medicaton at the time of reaction. Sorry I could not help you any better. Thanks, PetCareRx Vet team
"how to treat hair loss due to fleas"
First thing to due is to treat the fleas. Try Advantage or a flea bath. Treat the 2nd allergic problem. Your pet might be allergic to fleas. Consult your vet for the process he/she recommends. Thanks, PetCareRx Vet Team
"I am watching my sister's dog who was diagnosed with a Urinary Tract Infection about a month ago. She finished her pills and was fine for awhile. But this week while I've been watching her, she started licking herself again and takes longer than usual to go to the bathroom. My sister gets home Monday, can I wait until then to have her take her to the vet and handle it or should I do something before then? Is there anything I can do without taking her to the vet and incurring that cost?"
A tract infection is uncomfortable but is not a medical emergency but should be taken care of when she comes home. If anything looks bad please proceed to the vet. Thanks, PetCareRx Vet Team
"We adopted a dog from the pound last fall and it had hundreds of ticks. We washed the dog and used Frontline. The ticks kept coming back. We have never had ticks in our area, but this spring both our dogs are getting ticks. Our Vet recommended that we spray the yard, but he didn't know what to use. I have two children and didn't want to use something like nicotine that is so toxic. Also our 7 year old German Shepherd now has ticks. She has pacreatic insufficiency and the our Vet is concerned about using too many insecticides on her. He feels Frontline is the best for ticks but worries about using it on our old Shepherd. Is there anything else we can use with her that would get rid of the ticks and not put her at great risk? We are finding ticks in the house now! Thanks, Dorothy "
Use a tick dip on the dog like Paramite which your vet can help you with. Try a preventic collar both should be safe. This is tick season, but it will slow down. Thanks, PetCareRx Vet Team
"My 10 year old Maltese has chronic allergies and yeast infection. The vet has her on Nova-Hydroxyzin 25mg 3times daily. There is a pronouced swelling in her Vulva could this be caused by the medication."
A swollen vulva is not one of the side effects of hydroxyzine. Is your pet spayed? Your pet may be in heat or false prenancy. It may aslo be an infection. Have you vet check it out. Thanks, vetcarerx vet team
