Question:

2YR OLD BOSTON IN LABOR WITH HER 2ND LITTER..ONE PUPPIE BORN ABOUT 12 HRS AGO SHE HAS BEEN IN LABOR FOR PAST 12 HRS BUT NO SIGNS OF ANY MORE PUPPIES AND NOW SEEMS TO BE RELAXED AND NOT IN LABOR. DOES THIS MEAN POSSIBLEY THAT SHE HAS LOST UNBORN PUP OR IS THIS COMMON. SHE HAD NO TROUBLE HAVING HER FIRST LITTER OF 5 IN ABOUT 4-6 HRS. THANKS

Answer:

Your pet should be seen by a vet in order to assure that there are no more pups inside of her. She could become toxic if any puppies are still inside of her. An x-ray at day 50 of gestation should be taken prior to giving birth, in order to determine how many puppies she has inside of her so you will not run into this problem. vetcare
