Question:

Will arthrtis cause my dog to die sooner and what is the medicine you could use to treat it?

Answer:

There is no treatment for arthritis. We can manage the pain and inflammation with anti-inflammatories such as rimadyl. Cosequin or glucosamine chrondrotin also works well. It could shorten your pets life b/c the "quality of life" diminishes as arthritis becomes more severe. vetcare
