Question:

I have 2 eight yr old Cairn Terriers & have their stools checked every 6 mo for worms, they've always been clean. I've never given them heartworm medication. I don't believe in medication if there's no need. They're mostly in the house and we're very careful when we walk them. Is there a test for heartworms, should I medicate just in case, etc. Thank You

Answer:

Your pet should have a hertworm test every year. It is a simple blood test done by your vet. good luck, vetcare
