Question:

I have a female cat, was the runt of the litter, I helped the mother keep her from dying, She is approximately 6-8 yrs old, my querry is : in the summer she begins to scratch and dig at herself and has alot of sores and scabs, but in the winter she doesn't go thru all this? Can you tell me what I can do tohelp her? It's like she has psoriasis(sp) but only in the summer. thank you, Cindy mother to 6 cats, 3 dogs and 19 fish!

She probably has fleas. Make sure she is on good flea control such as advantage or frontline. vetcare

  • i'm no vet, but she might have allergies as well. if she's an outdoor cat at all, the fleas are very likely. make sure you use something specific for cats. they are much more sensitive to meds than dogs, in general.
