Question:

Our cat was hit by a car and went into Septic Shock in august. She has recovered well but limps. While she was recovering Metacam worked well to take her limp away. Is this medication safe long term? Is there a better choice? Is there an over the counter version that will save me needing to visit and pay the vet again?

Answer:

There are no tests I can refer to regarding the long term use of Metacam in cats. I do not know how safe it is in cats-period, but I have had good results with short term use. Consider Cosequin for cats as well. It is all natural. vetcare
