Question:

Why would a cat rub its teeth on wooden furniture causing the wood to chip or gauge out?

Answer:

Cats usually rub against furniture in order to mark territory. If your pet is actually destroying the furniture then I would have your pet checked by the vet. Your pets mouth may be sore or there may be another reason for this. vetcare
