Question:

Last Aug, my husband's uncle gave us his macaw, he can't take care of him any longer, any way he calls me mother and is very loving to me however he stopped talking after we put the xmas tree up. He had stopped comming down off his cage however he's doing that again. All though now he seems to be picking at his feathers alot, he's losing feathers also. Is this normal, mind you he's not going bald, or is it just the time of year to get new ones? How can I get him to talk again also? I've read that their claws should be clipped does this have to be? What about a bath should I put a tub of water in his cage or just mist him? Please give some advice I love him so much and want him to have the best of care thank you Betty

Answer:
