We adopted a dog from the pound last fall and it had hundreds of ticks. We washed the dog and used Frontline. The ticks kept coming back. We have never had ticks in our area, but this spring both our dogs are getting ticks. Our Vet recommended that we spray the yard, but he didn't know what to use. I have two children and didn't want to use something like nicotine that is so toxic. Also our 7 year old German Shepherd now has ticks. She has pacreatic insufficiency and the our Vet is concerned about using too many insecticides on her. He feels Frontline is the best for ticks but worries about using it on our old Shepherd. Is there anything else we can use with her that would get rid of the ticks and not put her at great risk? We are finding ticks in the house now! Thanks, Dorothy
Use a tick dip on the dog like Paramite which your vet can help you with. Try a preventic collar both should be safe. This is tick season, but it will slow down. Thanks, PetCareRx Vet Team
