She had a feeding tube placed since her esophagus essentially doesn't work, but I noticed she was developing a cough. After a visit with her internal medicine specialist, she was started on this medication for esophagitis - inflammation of the esophagus because she doesn't get any food by mouth. She gets one tablet, 3 times a day in a slurry orally, and she has done WONDERFUL on it. No coughing, not dry mouth, or ulcerations anymore. This fairly cheap medication has improved her quality of life, and makes her so much more comfortable. I will keep her on this medication for the rest of her life. June 6, 2011
