Gentamicin Sulfate Ophthalmic Solution is a prescription medicine for veterinary use in dogs, cats, and horses. It is a sterile ophthalmic antibiotic used in the treatment of conjunctivitis caused by susceptible bacteria. It can also be used to treat other bacterial infections of the eye.

Who's Gentamicin Sulfate Ophthalmic Solution For?
Gentamicin ophthalmic should not be used in animals allergic to it. Do not allow the tip of the ointment tube or dropper bottle to touch the eye of the animal or the hands of the owner in order to prevent contamination of the medication.

Gentamicin Sulfate Ophthalmic Solution Ingredients
Active Ingredient: Gentamicin Sulfate (3 mg in 1 mL)

Inactive Ingredients: Dibasic Sodium Phosphate, Sodium Chloride, Monobasic Sodium Phosphate, Purified Water. Hydrochloric Acid and/or Sodium Hydroxide may be added to adjust pH (6.5 - 7.5)

Preservative Added: Benzalkonium Chloride 0.01%.

Side Effects and Warnings
Before using, tell your veterinarian if your pet is using other eye drops or eye medications. If your pet has swelling of the face or itching, or appears to have difficulty breathing, contact your veterinarian immediately. Do not touch the dropper opening to any surface including eyes or hands.

Prolonged use may give rise to the overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms such as fungi. If this occurs or if irritation or allergic reaction to this product occurs, the veterinarian or veterinary ophthalmologist should be consulted prior to discontinuing the medication.
